[For those of you still wondering what those fancy hand mirrors were for, well, it looks like there's no need to wonder that much longer.]
A mirror will let me see... Mon, what's that even supposed to mean?
[The comment itself is half muttered, not quite fully voiced aloud, but still readily audible as the visuals change, swerving from half tilted to the sky before it is aimed in the direction of the face of a black teenager, who upon getting a look at herself immediately tries to carefully comb a few leaves and twigs out of the curling mass of hair held off her shoulders in a ponytail, before giving up.]
I guess it'll come in use later.

A more considerate man might consider the effects of a young girl suddenly seeing a man in her mirror, especially one as malnourished and sickly looking as he is. Sirius is not a very thoughtful person.]
So that's what this is. A two-way mirror.

And well, as bad as he is, she's still seen worse. Most of the alarm is just surprise at the mirror doing something, really.]
It figures it would be for something like that.
Yours all fancy too?

[Sirius disappears briefly as he turns the mirror over quickly. There's a blur of green and finally he holds it upright again.]
I like them plainer.

I'm not sure this is the sort of place that really goes in for 'plain', if this forest is anything to go by.
[Because while it's a forest, it certainly isn't just a forest. It's almost beyond that.]

The sound of someone speaking from directly behind (and a little bit below) him makes him startle, and he takes a second to realize where the sound came from and whip the mirror out.]
What the hell is this? Who the hell are you? How'd you get this... [number?]...thing to turn on?
[He's never seen this girl before in his life, and, through no fault of her own, he's immediately set to dislike her for interrupting his breaking-shit-therapy-hour.]

Some kinda magic mirror? I mean, it can't be anything else. [Not with what she's been able to see of it, and with landing in some woods like she has. Plus, she has a decent instinct for the mystical, at least.] I just kinda started talking in front of it, I didn't expect it to actually do anything.
I'm Anita.
You?

Dixon. And if these things are voice-activated that's not great. [God, what kind of things might end up accidentally broadcast? He tries to squint past her to see what the background is.] Where are you? Are you in the temple?

Or it can come in use now.
[ He looks as surprised as he sounds. 'Communication device' might have crossed his mind as one of those wildly inventive, throw every paper towel of an idea at the wall to see what sticks ideas, but he wasn't expecting it to stick. ]
no subject
Looks like it. You're a sight for sore eyes.
[Magical communication mirror wasn't exactly what she was expecting, but it could've been a lot worse. And more useless.]

I've got questions. Are you making the mirror work like this, and are you here? We're at some sort of abandoned temple, specifically, and most of us fell through a tunnel that ordered us to save the Green.
[ He lets that hang there for a beat, but doesn't follow up by asserting that he doesn't have a head injury. ]
If the answer to the second one is no, I've got more questions.

Oh, so that's what it's for. Didn't the dragons have something like that back home? Stones, not mirrors, but... ]
Wow. I'm so glad we can keep track of each other even if someone manages to wander a whole fifty feet away from the group.
[ ...yeah, it seems kind of pointless when they can't get away from each other even if they want to. ]

[Anita, on her part, is definitely not with a group right now, seeing how she's both alone and in the middle of some woods.]

[ So says Alacruun. He's still figuring out how to carry all of his stuff, but he knows enough about magic to 'get' the whole mirror thing. Anyway, she's treated to a flash of grey skin and horns and an arched eyebrow. ]
no subject
[There's a bit of curiosity, especially once she catches sight of the horns, but no alarm or caution, otherwise.]
no subject
[ Also dry. ]
I've encountered magic similar to this before - being taken to another plane - but... this is different.

[Daryl's voice, gruff and cigarette roughened, came through the mirror, but the only his voice. The reflection given was still Anita's.]

This normal for you?

You gonna find yer way here pretty fast, though, long as you keep wanderin' a bit with no real direction in mind.

I was leaning "mysterious prophecy item we'll find out about when the time is right."
[ Not being good at things at least doesn't preclude him from having some genre savvy. ]
I'm Simmons. There are even more of us, you'll see.

Does 'mysterious prophecy item' really make sense when it sounds like everyone's got a fancy mirror of their own?
