[For those of you still wondering what those fancy hand mirrors were for, well, it looks like there's no need to wonder that much longer.]

A mirror will let me see... Mon, what's that even supposed to mean?

[The comment itself is half muttered, not quite fully voiced aloud, but still readily audible as the visuals change, swerving from half tilted to the sky before it is aimed in the direction of the face of a black teenager, who upon getting a look at herself immediately tries to carefully comb a few leaves and twigs out of the curling mass of hair held off her shoulders in a ponytail, before giving up.]

I guess it'll come in use later.

I'm guessing this was a surprise for everyone, then, huh?

No more a surprise than everything else that's happened to us lately.

Hopefully there won't be too many more surprises, but I doubt it.

I don't mind the surprises.

Don't you think that it keeps us on your toes?

Well, some are okay, I guess.

The kind that end up in life and death situations, not so much.

I guess I've got a feeling that we're gonna end up with more of the latter kind.

[loadme]

Mmmm.

[Boy does she have a lot to say on that subject.]

It can't really be helped, can it? Otherwise this would be a lot easier, and everyone knows it just doesn't work that way.

[Anita shrugs, slightly, even though the movement might not be fully visible to the mirror in her hand.]

Well, it can and can't. All we can do is make sure we're as prepared as we can be, I guess.

Did you do anything special back where you're from?

I was just a normal high school student, so I wasn't really involved in anything extraordinary.

Ahaha, it makes me seem kind of boring compared to everyone else here.

A bit, and there, I guess. [What a non-answer.] I'm sure you're not boring. This sort of thing makes anything near normal seem out of place.

I guess we'll find out how well we do at something with this kind of scale, huh?

[Monika knows quite a bit about non-answers.]

Looks that way! It's all pretty exciting, when you think about it.

I used to run a Literature Club back home, so I think this will give me lots of material to write all sorts of poems.
